Remote desert landscapes and a sense of being in the middle of nowhere with only the stars guiding your way make this a unique desert camping experience to the dunes of Erg Chigaga, a wilder less populated area in the Sahara Desert.

The drive to the desert itself is thrilling enough, passing through a fascinating ever changing mix of landscapes and experiencing different elements of Moroccan life and warm hospitality.

Palm groves, Atlas Mountain passes, Berber villages, historic kasbahs and deep valleys the ever changing scenery make this a journey of epic moments and lifetime memories.

Day 1: Marrakech to Agdz

After breakfast your journey begins through the High Atlas Mountains over thrilling Tizi N’ Tichka Pass, Morocco’s highest pass at 2,260 metres and on to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate, timeless places with well preserved kasbahs that may feel familiar as they have provided the backdrop for many famous movies including Lawrence of Arabia, The Last Temptation of Christ, and Gladiator. The drive continues through the Ait Saoun mountain region towards Agdz, a classic oasis with lush palmeraie and ancient mudbrick kasbahs, where you will pass the evening in a traditional guesthouse surrounded by the unique nature of the Draa Valley.

Day 2: Agdz, Draa Valley to Erg Chigaga Great Dunes

Continue to travel through the lush Draa Valley (the Draa is Morocco’s longest river) to Zagora, a small oasis town on the Sahara fringe before moving onto M’Hamid. Arriving in M’hamid you will be transferred by 4x4 into the dunes of Erg Chigaga for a 2 hour drive across remote desert plains to your luxury camp for an unforgettable night in the luxury Sahara Desert camp, music, food and the sun setting over the dunes.

Overnight at Luxury Desert Camp- all meals, drinks and activities (camel ride, sundowners on the dunes, singing and drumming around the fire) are included


Day 3: Erg Chigaga to Foum Zguid

After breakfast you can explore the dunes on foot or camel back before leaving the desert camp behind on 4x4 to Foum Zguid, a fascinating journey of approximately 3 hours through soft sand, dried lakes and fossil fields. Unique and remote, you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere.

Day 4: Foum Zguid to Taroudant

From Foum Zguid you will drive through the Anti-Atlas passing the towns of Tazenakht, famous for carpet-making and Taliouine, the region of Morocco’s main Saffron production, before reaching the medieval walled town of Taroudant known as the ‘Little Marrakech’ due to its similar rampart walls but much smaller in size.

Day 5: Taroundant across High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech

You are welcome to spend a few hours exploring the interesting market town of Taroudant before returning to Marrakech via an exhilarating route across the High Atlas mountains, crossing at approx. 2100m the Tizi n Test pass, through some breath-taking mountain scenery, passing the villages of Ijoukak and Ouirgane and eventually descending into the Marrakech plain.
