Leave the bustling streets of Marrakech behind and travel up mountain roads to the rural village of Imlil.

Ride a camel or mule, trek upwards to have lunch in a Berber house or just relax in the green, leafy countryside and cooler, more tranquil environment.

Imlil is rural village in the High Atlas Mountains and the starting point for the ascent of Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa.

Once in Imlil you can take a scenic hike (approx. 1 hour) with a guide to a nearby Berber village, Armoud. Not only does Armoud offer great views of Mount Toubkal but you can experience the best of authentic Berber hospitality and share a traditional lunch with a family in their home in the village.

For those who don’t want to walk upwards, Imlil offers a range of less strenuous options, you can relax and soak up the beautiful scenery of the Atlas Mountains, take a camel ride at Asni or walk to a mountain waterfall. Whatever you choose you are sure to experience the best of Berber hospitality with the locals who will be sure to welcome you with a smile.
