Ourika Valley

Duration 6-8 hours

Nestled in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, Ourika Valley is one of our most popular day trips from Marrakech as it’s just 1 and a half hours from the city centre. A lush expanse of cooling nature and a welcome change from city, the valley provides a picturesque backdrop for a day away.

The area’s star attractions are the Setti Fatma waterfalls, a series of 7 cascading waterfalls flowing into the Ourika River and the valley’s traditional Berber villages. The main village of Setti Fatma maintains a traditional way of life, with organic farming and producing pottery and handicrafts to sell. We can arrange a visit to an authentic Berber house to share tea with the family or experience traditional pottery making first-hand in an authentic class facilitated by local craftsmen. The village offers a multitude of restaurants set along the banks of the river serving a range of homemade tagines and breads, it’s a must to stop for lunch here and enjoy these local delights.

This day trip offers you a complete change of scenery from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, relax in the breathtaking scenery, dip in the water of the Ourika River or Setti Fatma waterfalls, eat the local cuisine and experience Berber culture first-hand.
