The journey begins through the High Atlas Mountains over the thrilling Tizi n’Tichka Pass, Morocco’s highest pass at 2,260 metres and on to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate, timeless places with well preserved kasbahs that may feel familiar as they have provided the backdrop for many famous movies including Lawrence of Arabia, The Last Temptation of Christ and Gladiator. You will stay the night here in an authentic guesthouse, enjoy a traditional dinner with time to relax and take in the surrounding scenery.

Day 2: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Erfoud - Merzouga

Driving on to Todra Gorge, a huge canyon forged from the river carving its way out of the mountains to form one of the most dramatic natural sights in Morocco, time given to explore and walk along the riverside. Continuing through Erfoud, Tinejdad for lunch and on to Merzouga and arriving at the hotel for a welcome Moroccan tea before swapping car for camel. An hours camel trek through the sandy solitude of the Sahara brings you to the dunes in time for an uninterrupted view of the sunset, a sublime moment!
